T1 2026 U8s Competition is for players turning 6 or 7 in 2026
(born 2019 or 2020)
Basketball is a terrific way for kids to start in team sports. They have fun, exercise, learn important sports skills and teamwork and develop friendships.
Under 8s play in the North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball League. Players are aged 6 & 7 and teams are mixed boys and girls. We recommend those children new to basketball attend training sessions prior to registering for U8 competitive basketball, however all interested players are encouraged to participate. Competition fees and Uniform information is detailed below.
Each Under 8’s season runs across one school term and is a great way for young ballers to dip their toes into the basketball experience, giving players 4 seasons to play each year.
​Did you know that games are played under modified conditions?

Teams only have 4 players on the court at any one time, allowing for greater spacing and more opportunity for players to handle the ball.

Everyone loves to make a basket, so games are played on lowered 8.5' hoops.

Games are played with a size 5 ball that allows more scoring, and better for the development of sound shooting technique.

Coaches are also allowed on the court with the teams to help direct the players.

Seasons are run during the school term and there are 4 x terms (seasons) / year

Come and give basketball a go! Street Hoops is Wednesdays during the school term from 3.45pm - 5pm at the TMSS outdoor courts. Email our Street Hoops coordinator Ana to book a free session.

Complete our Wolves Club registration and then you'll be redirected to Basketball Connect - this is the payment gateway for the competition registration. If you are a NEW PLAYER, you will be required to create an account as well as pay your registration fees. EXISTING PLAYERS will sign in to your current account to complete your BC registration.
FINALLY PURCHASE YOUR WOLVES UNIFORMS!
Each Wolves player is required to play in a Wolves Jersey & Shorts. You can purchase these in our online shop here.

TERM 1 - 2026 COMPETITION INFORMATION
REGISTRATION DETAILS
All participants must be currently registered with Basketball Queensland. Basketball Queensland registration is valid for 1 year from the time you pay.

Under the new BasketballConnect system, you will be asked to renew your BQ rego at the time of registering for a competition if your current rego is set to expire prior to the end of the season.
WOLVES UNIFORM
Under 8's team members will be required to purchase a Wolves Jersey & Shorts. Purchase your uniform in our Online Shop. Please include in the notes when ordering, your child’s name, U8 and size.
PLAY ON! SPORTS VOUCHERS
We are a registered Play On! Sports Voucher organisation (previously Fair Play Voucher). Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a FairPlay voucher for their child to use towards their basketball registration fees.
