JUNIOR COACH
PATHWAYS & POLICY
FOR PLAYERS CONSIDERING COACHING CLUB BASKETBALL WITH THE WOLVES
The Wolves are committed to the development of enthusiastic young basketball coaches. This policy provides the guidelines to ensure a safe and inspired environment for underage coaches to develop and hold the position of Junior Assistant (Developing) Coaches and Junior Head Coach with Wolves Basketball.
Wolves Basketball recognises that teenage basketball players can hold a great deal of skill and Basketball IQ which can be applied to younger age groups learning the game of basketball and the ability to coach our teams successfully through the regular season and into finals. Often our Junior Coaches have a greater capacity to communicate to young players and to relate to them as young athletes.
With the support of Blue Card Holding Assistant / Coaches and Game Day Team Managers, Junior Coaches have the opportunity to develop their emotional intelligence, leadership and formal communication skills essential for effective coaching and team management of junior teams.
